“For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.” Jeremiah 4:3
We carried a heavy load on our backs and did not know how to get rid of it. Thank God, we were able to give it over to the Lord. We were not designed to carry burdens and cares. This leads to stress and, inevitably, many physically ailments.
To effectually seek God, we must be sincere in our desire for Him. We must break up our fallow ground.
Fallow ground is, simply, ground or soil which has been left unattended for a period of time. It has not been prepared for planting. It time, this soil becomes dry and unproductive. Perhaps weeds and thorns will develop and begin to take over the land. The soil may become hard and dry.
We must not let our hearts get into this condition. For God to work, our hearts must be tender and malleable.
It is time to break up your fallow ground so God can work in your heart. In this way, you can bring forth fruits unto righteousness.
“Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:” Matthew 3:8
